Nike - Beacon
Social Media Management Application for Nike
OVERVIEW
Beacon is a Universal Communications Platform that helps Nike manage its social media activities. Content planning, Content publishing to various social media channels, Social Assets Repository, and Social media engagement were few key functions of the Beacon product.
This platform is made for Nike-specific use cases and Sprinklr's existing features were reused. We are a team of 3 designers from Sprinklr and 2 designers from the R/GA agency who worked on this project.
ROLE AND PROJECT DURATION
Product Designer, Sprinklr
Nov 2015 - March 2016
SCOPE OF WORK
UX, Design Systems, Interaction Design, Prototyping

The Problem
Nike has a huge customer base that belongs to different geographies, speaks different languages, and uses different social media channels. This huge brand communicates using visual media and requires a specialized way of curating and creating content for its social media posts. They also wanted support for publishing content to their apps like Nike Training Club, Nike Running club, etc., which is not supported by the Sprinklr platform.
User Profiles
Primary users
Social Media Managers, who take care of the campaign from a birds-eye view
Content planners plan the content that goes into a social media post. They often work with creative collaborators
Secondary users
Content Creators, who create the content for the post, typically copywriters and creative collaborators
Design Process
User research was conducted with both primary and secondary users on a need basis and it covered the following topics.
Understanding the business
Roles and responsibilities of each job function
Day-to-day tasks that need to be accomplished
Criteria and Measurement of task success
Business requirements/ stories were received from Nike and all the stories were categorized to each of the existing product areas. Further, concepts were created in each of these stories. These concepts were designed as low-fidelity wireframes and presented to the end-users for their acceptance.
A new design system / visual guidelines were designed to match Nike's brand. Bold and sportive design elements, which resonate with the brand's guidelines, were created in the design system.

Conceptualisation
Concepts were made in low-fidelity wireframes for each of the customer stories. Below is a sample of the concept that we have made for the Content planner/ scheduler, which is similar to a calendar with events.
Low Fidelity concepts for Content Planner
The Solution
That’s all!
